When creating a league, there are certain things that must occur in order to pass from one stage to the next which ultimately leads to a complete and functional league. I thought it might be beneficial to outline our goals and stages in order to be operational.
First creating a website and social media accounts in order to draw participants into the league. We've accomplished this and while there isn't a ton of content to display at the moment, it is sure to change once we are fully up and running.
Second, is to have enough players to field at least 4 teams. This is the stage we are at right now. While social media and the internet is immensely helpful, getting those you know to join is our best promotional tool. We are also starting to place flyers around the area to bring attention to the league.
Third: Once we have enough players for 4 full teams, we will start working towards organizing practices (up to each team and their captains or managers), ordering kits, and reserving playing fields and referee crews.
Side note: As teams begin to fill, they will be put in touch with one another in order to come up with their official team names, logos, design their kits, choose where they want to order kits from, decide on practice times and places. Teams will also be able to secure jersey sponsors.
Four, is to organize and schedule the complete slate of games, complete set of rules as voted on by the teams, and any other loose ends needed to be addressed.
Five, and finally games will be played. Please don't hesitate to sign up. The more teams we have the greater this whole experience will be.
