About the Challenger League
Welcome to the Challenger League, the newest addition to the vibrant soccer scene in the Kansas City area. Currently in the planning stages, the Challenger League will operate as a competitive platform beneath the Select League, providing exciting opportunities for teams to climb the ranks through our promotion and relegation system.

Challenger League teams will also play in the KCAFF Cup which will be an annual tournament held during the season among all KCAFF club teams.
Promotion and Relegation System
The Challenger League offers a dynamic pathway for advancement. Each season, the top-performing club in the Challenger League will earn automatic promotion to the Select League. Additionally, the second and third place finishers will face off in a thrilling playoff match to determine the second team to be promoted. Conversely, the bottom two clubs in the Select League will be relegated to the Challenger League, ensuring a competitive and ever-evolving league structure.
Rules and Regulations
Adhering to FIFA rules with one key modification—unlimited substitutions—the Challenger League maintains a high standard of play while offering strategic flexibility for teams. Each club's roster is capped at 25 players, fostering both competition and camaraderie within the teams.

In addition to league play, Challenger League clubs will have the exciting opportunity to compete in the future KCAFF Cup. This tournament will feature clubs from both the Select League and the Challenger League, promising thrilling matches and a showcase of the region's best soccer talent.
