About the KCAFF Super League

The KCAFF Super League is a bold new in-season tournament designed to unite the top football clubs from across eastern and central Kansas—and eventually, beyond. Slated to begin in 2027 (or the season following the launch of the Wichita Oberliga and League of Topeka), the Super League will bring together elite teams from multiple regional leagues in a highly competitive format that raises the bar for local soccer.

 

A Tournament for the Best

The KCAFF Super League will feature only the top-performing teams from its participating leagues. In its early years, the competition will include qualifying clubs from the Select League, Wichita Oberliga, and League of Topeka. As the tournament grows, new leagues will be added—including planned expansions such as Columbia Serie A, Ozark Highlands Premier League, and the Omaha Soccer League—broadening the competition’s reach across the Midwest.

Qualification will be merit-based: clubs must earn their place through league performance, ensuring a dynamic and competitive tournament every year.

 

How It Works

At the end of each season, the top teams from each eligible league will qualify for the next edition of the Super League. The number of teams each league contributes will be proportional to its size and structure, with larger leagues sending more clubs.

Once the clubs are selected, a random group stage draw will determine the groups. Teams will compete in home-and-away group stage matches, with points earned contributing to the Super League standings. The top one or two clubs from each group will then advance to the knockout stage, which will feature two-legged ties leading up to the championship final.

The final will be a one-match showdown, crowning the official champion of the KCAFF Super League and the best club in the region.

 

The In-Season Format

The Super League will run concurrently with each club’s regular league season, offering a fresh and challenging layer of competition. Fixtures will be strategically placed throughout the season to minimize scheduling conflicts while pushing teams to manage their squads and tactics across both domestic and regional fronts.
