Some of you have asked about a deadline for signing up for the World Cup tournament. While there is no hard deadline at the moment, each nation must have the minimum of 11 players before September 15 in order to participate in the tournament.
On September 15 we will hold the random drawing to determine the Group Stage. Depending on the number of teams competing will depend on the number of groups and number of teams per group. Obviously, the goal is to mimic the FIFA World Cup in this endeavor as much as possible. That being said, we need quite a few teams and quite a few more sign ups.
At the time of this writing, we are at 50 total players signed up to play. We need at least 4 teams minimum to even entertain holding this tournament. So, if you have been planning on signing up and haven't yet or if you know others who would want to play, now is the time to sign up. Click here to go to the sign up page. You have to be signed up to play, no exceptions.
Remember, if you sign up and participate in all of your teams' games, you will be eligible to win one of the Adidas World Cup balls. Other awards will include the Golden Boot award for the player who scores the most goals and the championship trophy. Other awards will be determined based on the number of teams participating.
