With the FIFA World Cup in Qatar less than 2 weeks away, the entire world is getting excited for soccer. This includes us here at The Select League! We each have our allegiances and welcome the competition, but truth be told, only one team will raise the trophy at the end. Some of these nations have little hope and others expect to be the victors. There will be games that no one expects where an underdog surprises a top dog. There will be a national team that captures the heart of all those who watch... a story of triumph and exceeding expectations. All of this will most certainly occur at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
How can anyone not be amped up for this tournament?! We at The Select League are hoping that this excitement also produces many more sign-ups for our own local World Cup tournament to be held this spring. Currently we have over 100 players signed up to play representing 34 different countries. There are some such as India, Mexico, Algeria that have 13 or more players. The USA and England just need a few more to reach the minimum. Some are at around 4 like Brazil and the Congo DR.
