Gambia 3 - England 2

On yet another breezy day in Olathe, the Gambian team took on the Three Lions of England. The game was super competitive and even. Both teams had opportunities that went unanswered going into halftime at 0-0.


The scoring all occurred after the break. England was up 2-1 before giving up the equalizer. Then with just 5 minutes left, Mo Baldeh scored the winning goal for Gambia and earning 3 points to keep them alive in Group B. England has officially been eliminated.

"[We're] disappointed to have lost the game. Thought the team did very well and we were the better team overall. Moving forward we need to focus on taking our chances and game management.", said England captain Joshua Lewin. "We didn't do a good enough job at keeping possession when we were up 2-1."

Gambia and Algeria face off this next weekend. Winner advances while a loss or tie for either team will leave their futures up to the Brazil - England. Of their next game, Gambian captain Mo Baldeh.
