It has come to our attention that a sanctioned league may have it easier in finding quality referee crews and obtaining top notch pitches to play games on. Our goal at The Select League is to make soccer available to the most possible people. We feel in order to do that, it is imperative to keep costs as low as possible. Becoming sanctioned would increase the annual cost of each player.
Other than an added ability to find referee crews and suitable pitches, sanctioning would also give each player insurance in case of injury. As it was explained, $20 a year would cover each player up to $5000 and $24 up to $25,000. Without sanctioning, each player would have to sign a release form.
This is to be a league for and by the players. So if you have an opinion on the matter, please vote here: The Select League | Facebook
