With the signup deadline less than a week away, we are getting ever closer to the Select World Cup tournament! Things will begin to happen very quickly.
Already teams have started practicing and ordering their uniform kits. After the deadline on February 28, the group draw will occur which will decide which teams will play one another in the initial group stage. As it appears now, we will either have 2 groups of 4 teams, 3 groups of 3 teams or 2 groups of 5 teams. Things can change very quickly if teams hit the qualifying number of 11 players prior to the deadline.
It has been determined that all the tournament games will be played on Saturdays. This means each team will play one game per week in the group stage. Game times for the group stage will be at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.
Each player will have to contribute to the field and referee costs. Field costs will be about $12-15 per player for the entire tournament and the referee costs per player should be about $22-25. Therefore, each player will have to pay $34-40 to participate in the tournament.
All the tournament balls have been delivered. Most of the national flags have been delivered. Soon the gold, silver and bronze medals will be ordered along with the Select World Cup trophy.
If you haven't signed up and want to participate, be sure that you do as soon as possible. If you have signed up but no longer interested in playing, please let us know as soon as possible.
