There is much anticipation regarding this weekend. Afterall, it is the scheduled start of the Select World Cup soccer tournament. But leave it to Mother Nature to send us the ever-present April showers. The forecast for tomorrow, April 15, calls for thunderstorms in the morning and consistent rain throughout the day. A couple of key points here: obviously we cannot play in thunderstorms and, secondly, if the fields are overly saturated it'll be a muddy mess and we could tear up the fields for future tournament games. If the games are to be postponed, the overwhelming consensus is to push the tournament back a week. The league will continue to monitor the situation and will have a decision by Saturday at noon.
