Kansas City, MO — After weeks of anticipation and over a dozen designs submitted for consideration, the Women’s Elite Soccer League (WESL) has officially unveiled its league logo—an emblem that represents both the elite identity and ambitious future of women’s soccer in the Kansas City metro.

The winning design, selected from a pool of 13 logo options in a community vote, blends tradition and boldness with a modern twist. The shield-style crest is inspired by the Select League’s iconic look, paying homage to the structure under the KCAFF (Kansas City Association Football Federation), but brings its own distinctive flair to represent the women’s game.

A large "W" anchors the design, signifying the league’s focus on women’s soccer. Flowing lines and stars sweep across the crest, evoking motion, energy, and aspiration—core values of WESL. The turquoise-and-black color scheme sets it apart from other leagues, signaling a fresh chapter while maintaining a strong, professional presence. The inscription "Elite League" boldly cuts across the badge, making the league’s competitive intent clear, while “Est. 2025” locks in the historic launch.

"This logo speaks to what we’re building: a league that’s competitive, community-rooted, and built to last,” said a WESL representative. “We’re excited that the final design was chosen by the community—it’s a shared identity from day one.”

The WESL is currently preparing for a possible June 2025 kickoff with founding clubs including Armory, Leawood Forest, Northland FC, and Real Overland Park. If enough players and coaches register, the inaugural season will begin this summer. Otherwise, preparations will continue toward a full launch in 2026.
