KCAFF International Friendlies Showcase Thrilling Matches

India faced Cameroon this past Saturday.

In a weekend filled with excitement and nail-biting moments, the KCAFF international friendlies delivered some unforgettable soccer action. The matches, held at Olathe Northwest High School and Blue Valley North High School, saw teams from India, Cameroon, Nepal, Gambia, Honduras, and Haiti battle it out for glory.


On Saturday morning at Olathe Northwest High School, the clash between India and Cameroon kept fans on the edge of their seats. In a goal-packed encounter, Cameroon emerged victorious with a 4-3 win. The high-scoring affair showcased the skill and determination of both teams as they traded blows throughout the game.


Gambia and Nepal played a close match.

Later in the day at Blue Valley North High School, Nepal faced off against Gambia in another thrilling encounter. Gambia secured a narrow 2-1 victory, with goals from Mo Baldeh and Ablie Jallow. Bass contributed with an assist on the Baldeh goal, showcasing the team's cohesive play. Ajit managed to find the back of the net for Nepal, but it wasn't enough to overcome Gambia's resilient defense.


Sunday brought the debut of Honduras in KCAFF, and they made a statement with a 2-1 victory over Haiti. Juan Velez and Gezer Melgar were the goal scorers for Honduras, each finding the target to secure the win. Edgar Mendez and Juan Velez provided the crucial assists, displaying teamwork and coordination on the field. Djobany "Primo" Jean managed to pull one back for Haiti, with an assist from Fils Roger Servy. Haiti's goalkeeper, Ernesto, showcased his skills with an impressive 8 saves.


The weekend's matches may mark the conclusion of the 2023 season, with colder weather on the horizon. Wyatt Farrow, Director of Media for Select League, ensured that the historic moment of Honduras' first official match was captured for posterity. A camera crew was on-site at the Honduras-Haiti match, gathering footage for the upcoming Select League docuseries, promising fans an in-depth look at the behind-the-scenes action and stories that will make Select League truly special.
