2025 KCAFF/EEC World Cup Tournament Update
Exciting progress is being made for the 2025 KCAFF/EEC World Cup! We’ve officially received the form from the school district, allowing us to request use of the field located across Swope Parkway. This venue is approximately a 10 to 15-minute walk from the main festival grounds. However, given the potential for hot temperatures, we should explore the option of running a shuttle service to assist attendees with transportation between the two venues. If anyone has an idea on this, please let us know.
We are also in urgent need of volunteers to help with tournament planning. Our primary focus right now is finding sponsors for the event, which will be much easier once we have confirmed the field rental. If you or someone you know is interested in contributing to this effort, please reach out!
KCAFF Non-Profit Status Update
We are taking the necessary steps to register KCAFF as a legal non-profit entity. This change will benefit us by allowing us to rent fields at lower costs and set up an official bank account, making it easier to manage funds for field rentals, referee payments, and tournament sanctioning.
The leadership board for this process will consist of:
Brandon Fisher – President
Michael Nichols – Vice President
Bryce Empey – Treasurer
The cost of filing for non-profit status is $600. Since KCAFF currently does not generate income, any donations towards covering this cost would be greatly appreciated. This step is critical to KCAFF’s future, helping us operate more smoothly and affordably.
Sanctioning Progress
In response to feedback from member teams, we are working to become sanctioned to streamline our operations and gain better access to referees and fields. As part of this effort, we’ve sent out invites to a Google spreadsheet for teams to input player information. This data is essential for the sanctioning process, so we ask that each team fills out their roster as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or did not receive the spreadsheet invite, please contact us directly. No teams have entered their rosters yet, so let’s get things rolling!
New Teams and Changes
We’re excited to announce that Vietnam, Croatia, and Sudan have joined KCAFF! However, we regret to inform you that Honduras has left due to frustrations with the lack of structure in the friendly matches. We are actively addressing these concerns through our push towards organization a
nd sanctioning.
As a reminder, only one team per nation will be represented in KCAFF. If you know of any other international teams that may be interested in joining, please let us know. We are always looking to expand!
Suggestions Welcome!
We value your input and ideas as we continue building KCAFF into a more organized and inclusive federation. If you have any suggestions or feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you for your continued support. Let’s make 2025 a fantastic year for soccer in Kansas City!
Best regards,KCAFF Leadership Team
