Kansas City’s soccer scene is about to experience a major transformation with the launch of the KCAFF Super League, an elite competition bringing together top clubs from four regional leagues. Inspired by the UEFA Champions League format prior to 2024, this in-season tournament offers another opportunity for clubs to claim silverware while competing against the best teams in the area.
A Competition for the Best
The KCAFF Super League will feature the highest-performing teams from four regional leagues:
Select League
Lawrence Adult Soccer League
Emporia Soccer League
Topeka Soccer League
Each league will determine its qualifiers based on their final standings in the 2025 season, ensuring that only the strongest teams earn a spot in the 2026 edition of the tournament.
Tournament Format
The structure of the KCAFF Super League mirrors the pre-2024 UEFA Champions League format:
Group Stage: Teams will be drawn into groups, playing home-and-away matches to determine who advances.
Knockout Rounds: The top teams from each group will progress to a knockout phase, featuring two-legged ties leading up to the final.
The Grand Final: A one-match final at a neutral venue will determine the ultimate champion of the KCAFF Super League.
A Trophy Worth Fighting For
This tournament adds an exciting dynamic to the region’s soccer calendar. It provides clubs an additional path to glory, fosters intercity rivalries, and elevates the level of competition. With the chance to battle for the title of the region’s best, teams will have extra motivation throughout the domestic season.
As the 2025 season unfolds, clubs will be vying not only for their league’s championship but also for a coveted place in the 2026 KCAFF Super League. Stay updated with all the latest news at KCAFF Super League Website.
