**Role Overview:**
Lee's Summit Athletic is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Volunteer Journalist. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable experience in journalism and contribute to the vibrant sports community in Lee's Summit.

**Responsibilities:**
1. **Content Creation:** Write engaging and informative articles related to the club's activities, events, and sports achievements for publication on the club's website.

2. **Interviews and Research:** Conduct interviews with athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders to gather insights and information for compelling articles. Stay updated on relevant sports news and trends.

 

3. **Collaboration:** Work closely with the Media Director to align content with the club's messaging and branding. Collaborate with other team members to gather content and ensure accurate representation.

 

4. **Deadline Management:** Meet established deadlines for article submissions and coordinate with the editorial team to ensure timely publication.

 

5. **Photography and Multimedia:** Occasionally capture photographs or multimedia content to accompany articles, providing a well-rounded and visually appealing storytelling experience.

 

6. **Social Media Engagement:** Contribute to the club's social media platforms by sharing articles and engaging with the audience. Support the overall digital media strategy.

**Qualifications:**
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Passion for sports and an understanding of the local sports scene.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Enthusiastic about contributing to the growth of a community sports club.
- Previous experience in journalism or content creation (preferred but not required).

**Reporting Structure:**
The Volunteer Journalist will report directly to the Media Director, receiving guidance and support in shaping content and aligning it with the club's communication strategy.
