We asked Nestler some questions to get to know him.
Spencer, can you share the story of how you first fell in love with soccer and what inspired you to pursue playing for Olathe United?
I first got into the game when I was young, played most of growing up. Really fell for it the year my uncle decided to coach, a few seasons. He made it special and really encouraged everyone to reach their potential. Made it memorable and something to look forward to each season.
Bit back I was in a nasty motorcycle wreck, breaking both ankles in the process. Since my recovery from that I have been driven to enjoy the things I love while I can!!! With my ankles back and better than ever I have been craving a team to stand with and enjoy the great game!!! Olathe United is just the fit for me and I look forward to growing as a player and excited to be part of an excellent and exciting team!!!
As you join this new team, what unique skills or qualities do you believe you'll bring to the squad, both on and off the field?
I have a really positive attitude with a lot of drive. I have good endurance and try to practice to better myself every time I lace up my cleats. I take care of my own and really value being a reliabable player and friend!!!
Olathe United is one of two clubs that KCAFF World Cup Golden Boot winner, Ashton Watson along with South African forward Jason Stevenson are considering. Since they are a package deal, what would you say to them to convince them to choose Olathe United over Real Overland Park?
I think this team has alot of potential and they would be great fits here! I think it could be a tight group that could really help bring out the best in each other and help everybody grow and have fun!!! Plus ya know the buffalo is cool ;) haha
What are your personal goals for the upcoming season with your new team, and how do you envision making a positive impact in the community and among the fans?
My personal goals for the season are to grow as a player and try to increase awareness for the league and game! I want to see the community aware, supporting it, and through that bring acceptance and awareness to it. I'd love to see those stands full each week at home or on the road!
